This is a skill refresher Game Jam game after coming back to game development from a decade long hiatus.
The game jam is "Game Off 2023" with the loose theme of "Scale" with any interpretation of that theme being accepted. The jam ran from 11/1/23 to 12/1/23.
Concept:
The starting idea is fairly derivative, essentially being a 2d Portal like game in tone and feel, but with shrinking and enlarging objects as the physics manipulation option.
Narrative:
The narrative would be simple, you wake up in a cell that you have clearly been living in for quite some time. You find the "mini" gun (haha...) and start your escape from the lab. As you progress through the levels you see a bunch of different size-based research and enemies trying to stop you from leaving and it becomes clear something isn't quite right, things just seem off. Once reaching the end of the game and moving through the final exit, you are treated to a short cut-scene where the main character finds themself staring up at a huge sky-scraper sized scientist in a lab coat that plucks them from the lab-rat-maze sized facility they came out of, and drops them into a new facility with a label like "test 735".
